[General Description]

This technical report stipulates the detailed operations along with specifying the technical parameters of practical use of digital terrestrial TV broadcast (hereinafter “digital terrestrial broadcast” is also the same) among the standard TV broadcasts that are broadcasting in conformity with the stipulations of the Ordinances and Notifications of Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (formerly the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications) and the ARIB standard.　These regulations have been considered so as to ensure the flexibility of broadcast program compilation of each broadcaster of digital terrestrial broadcast and the expandability enabling development of broadcast services in the future.

In addition, this technical report stipulates the functional specifications of receivers, digital terrestrial broadcasters are to operate the transmission on premise of the defined functional specifications for digital terrestrial broadcast receivers.　This report provides the requirements for performing digital terrestrial broadcast services smoothly without impairing viewers’ convenience, but the actual implementation of the functional specifications of receivers is left to product planning of receiver manufacturers.
