Basic Policy on Protection of Personal Information
The Association of Radio Industries and Businesses (ARIB) possess personal information regarding numerous individuals in relation to its business and believe that the protection of personal information is an important duty. In order to gain the trust of information holders and society as a whole, we endeavor to protect personal information in accordance with the following.
(1) When collecting personal information, we disclose the purposes of use and collects information to the extent necessary, and except in cases where public notice of the purposes of use is provided in advance, we provide notification or public notice of the purposes of use and uses personal information within that scope.
(2) We do not provide or disclose collected personal information to third parties except in the following cases.
(i) In cases where the relevant individual consents in advance; and
(ii) In the cases specified in Article 23, Paragraph 1 of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information.
(3) In cases where personal information is entrusted to a third party, we investigate the appropriateness of such entrustment in light of the status of the third party’s security measures and other factors and enters into a confidentiality agreement with the third party prior to entrusting the information and performs appropriate supervision of the third party.
We have adopted rules and takes security measures to prevent and correct unauthorized access to, leaks and loss of, and damage to personal information.
We endeavor to respond appropriately to changes in the social environment regarding the handling of personal information. In addition, we endeavor to make revisions, corrections, and additions to this Policy and other rules and so on as necessary.
If you believe that we are not in compliance with this Policy on Protection of Personal Information or you want us to disclose, correct, supplement, delete, or stop using personal information, please contact the Administration Department at 03-5510-8590. We shall respond in an appropriate manner within a reasonable period.
We endeavor to respond appropriately and in a timely manner to complaints regarding the handling of personal information.
