[STD Number]ARIB STD-T87
[Standard Name]Airport Digital Mobile Telecommunication System
[Enactment Date]2003/10/16
[Version] 1.1
[Revision Date]2005/11/30
[General Description]
This standard is developed for a Digital Mobile Communication System used in airports for operation management, miscellaneous services, aircraft operations, etc., according to the Ministerial Ordinance (Revised in October, 2003), taking realizing the special airport requirements such as prioritized connection function, short connection time, etc.
The system equipment, consists of control station, base station and mobile stations , installed per an airport bases, provides communication, using 400MHz band, between the fixed terminals and the mobile stations, and also (via a base station or directly) between mobile stations.
The communication system employs 4-multiplexed TDM/TDMA method which makes multi-channel by dividing a frame into 4 slots, and π/4 shift QPSK as a modulation method.
This system adapts to special requirement for airports operational communications, such as maintaining aircraft safety, by secured emergency communications, prioritized connection for important communication, and remote activation of mobile equipment (hot mic function) from a supervising terminal. In addition, a short connection time is achieved by the simplified message organization and the optimizing communication protocol.
This standard supports voice communication, data communication, simultaneous voice & data communication, etc., enabling non-voice communications such as character communication, image transmission, etc.
