[General Description]

This standard specifies transmission systems for next generation system (ISDB-T2) and hierarchical division multiplexing system (ISDB-T1.5) among standard television broadcasting, high definition television broadcasting, and ultra-high definition television broadcasting, using terrestrial basic broadcasting stations (excluding those carrying out terrestrial broadcasting for mobile reception).

This system uses LDPC codes as error correcting codes, ultra-multilevel modulation such as 256QAM-NUC to 4096QAM-NUC, and hierarchical division multiplexing with terrestrial digital television broadcasting.
